Is she running in and out?The Co=Ordinator wrote:Yes Ma'am.
For those who are not aware, that's Urban Herbivore on the left in the first photo. She's playing "Funky Claude".
Weather and stuff mean I won't be able to make it either, I'm afraid, but hope many legs are broken in a purely theatrical sense...
Re: C=O proudly presents "Rapunzel"
The weather is killing last minute ticket sales - no surprise there I suppose. Although the Saturday Matinee is currently 32 oversold on the official capacity!!!
Remarkably everyone made it tonight. Given that we have folk coming from St Albans, Loudwater, The Chalfonts to name but 3 that's a bloody good effort. And the whole thing went much better: still some issues but - well, we'll just have to deal with them.
Tomorrow sees our Gala Premiere. Lots of guests including current & former MP's, The Deputy Mayor, Past Mayors, Prospective Parliamentary Candidates, the Head of the School plus various Governors. I think some of them may be amazed by the standard which we attain. I hope there may also be jaws that drop at some of the gags.
Have to say that may favourite scene in the show is Act 2 Scene 3, where myself (as Daisy Vasey), Prince Leopold and Funky Claude go out into the woods searching for the Tower that is shielded by an invisibility cloak. There's shed loads of comedy, audience participation, my solo, plus a ghost scene that really works. It's a joyous 9 or 10 minutes of pantomime IMO, the sort of thing to which I always aspire but don't always attain.
Unfortunately our official photographer, who was due down tonight & normally takes 250 odd shots, couldn't make it. However Mrs C=O took some & I'll try to upload a few tomorrow.

All the best with Rapunzel, Tony.
Really sorry, but I won't be able to make it now because of a combination of the snow and a family bereavement for Louise. All the best with the performances, and I'm sure they'll be fantastic.

Re: C=O proudly presents "Rapunzel"
Some photos from last night.
Mrs. Daisy Vasey, proprietor of the Bohlingen Village Shop, shortly before The Dress Rehearsal gets underway.
All the rest are from Act One. Spoilers!
Rapunzel's parents, Nina & Frederick, together with the evil Mother Gothel (boo!), set the background to the story.
Royston, Daisy, Funky Claude & Prince Leopold at the end of the audience participation song "YMCA".
"Bohlingen's Got Talent". Simon Towel, Amanda Holdem and Aunty Dec (yes we have 2 dames!) step back in horror as Piers Moron, played by Steve Pound, goes to town.
Rapunzel, high in her tower, encounters a unexpected vision. But who, or what, is it?
More to follow as and when I get further decent ones - hopefully tomorrow.

Re: C=O proudly presents "Rapunzel"
What a great opening night - looks like we've got away with it again!
Simply won't have the time to sort more photos out till next week, but hopefully it'll be worth the wait.

Re: C=O proudly presents "Rapunzel"
A great final day - delighted we managed to get through the week, so many hurdles and obstacles were thrown in our way but we overcame.
He'd told me a couple of months ago in confidence, but at the end of the show last night our Producer Jim, who started it all nearly 30 years ago, & has been the main man ever since, announced his retirement from the Players. I hope we can have a key personnel meeting in the next few weeks to decide how we want to take it forward from here.

Re: C=O proudly presents "Rapunzel"
OK, more photos.
Rapunzel is "Holding out for a Hero". Looks like she's ended up with Batman & Robin!
The evil Mother Gothel. "Nothing in the world can stop me now!"
"I think I love you".
The moment the entire cast & crew were dreading every show!!! "I left my heart".
Behind you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Children of Pantomime arrive.
"The Wonder of You."
Daisy ends up with Herr Lipp.
The Return of the Seven Frails, this time with drip stands!
Hallelujah - it's the finale!
