Nice Donna Temple-Noble imatation, there, Mr. Flair.
I find this bit kind of interesting:
Steven Moffat wrote:A Christmas Carol reunites Matt Smith, Karen Gillan and Arthur Darvill and guest stars Michael Gambon (Harry Potter, The Singing Detective) and Katherine Jenkins. Right now we don't know much about the special, but earlier in the year, Lead Writer and Executive Producer, Steven Moffat, confirmed, 'Oh, we're going for broke with this one. It's all your favourite Christmas movies at once, in an hour, with monsters. And the Doctor. And a honeymoon. And ... oh, you'll see. I've honestly never been so excited about writing anything!'
You've got to love the way the Moff manages expectations like that.

"I've honestly never been so excited about writing anything!" - hasn't he written it yet, then? He needs to get a wriggle on!

Here's SOME NEWS American Wrinklies can be greatful for: This year's Christmas Special is going to be transmitted on Christmas Day on BBC-America! HOORAY! We'll see it the same day as it's aired on in the UK!
And! And! The Christmas broadcast will include transmission of last summer's Doctor Who Prom- a first!

I don't believe any Disney characters are involved.

Sadly, no. Where they're filming in Utah (Monument Valley, if I'm remembering correctly) is at least an 8-hour drive for me. I'd have to take a few days off work, contend with the potential for bad weather on the drive, and find a motel with free wifi access to blog updates.

Tell you what- if they decide to come film in Colorado, and use it as a reason to bring back the Yeti, I'll definately make plans to drop in on-set.

Re: A Christmas Carol. Pre-transmission discussion
Trailer for "A Christmas Carol" that can hopefully be viewed worldwide.

Having been somewhat ambivalent till now, I have to say that looks rather good in a fairy tale way. Too often RTD's Christmas Day episodes have been a let down IMO. Hopefully The Moff may have nailed it.

Re: A Christmas Carol. Pre-transmission discussion
Whoa! That was very nice. And yes, on this side of the pond, the viewing certainly worked. I expect it to be part of commercial spots on BBC-America with increasing frequency through December.
So... apparently, Mr. Gambon is playing Scrooge, after a fashion.
I'm hopeful. Perhaps not as hopeful as I was before Christmas Invasion, or Voyage of the Damned, but I'm hopeful. Thanks, C=O!

This being Doctor Who, they should have taken a lesson from the snowmen monsters Calvin and Hobbes make.

Re: A Christmas Carol. Pre-transmission discussion
Nice! Notice the Utah background behind Arthur?
I find it interesting that they're putting this up through the BBC America site- they know the BBC's Doctor Who page is geographically locked. What does that say about where they're seeing audience growth happen?
