UK Part 2 will be New Years Day Patrick. I'm guessing 6.45pm.

BBC America hasn't announced a date for Part 2 yet. However, they have been heavily promoting the airings of the last three specials for some time now as "Coming this December."
We know Waters of Mars will air Saturday the 19th on BBC-A, and EoT Part 1 will air Saturday the 26th. I'm guessing that means Part 2 will air Saturday, January 2nd.
Anyway, the chat announcement still seems like a good idea to me.

No problem with that at all. I know for a fact that I won't be watching Part One on transmission though.

You make an interesting point, Lee. In the case of Bad Wolf/retardation of forward development of a civilization, it was the Daleks that were at fault. In the case of End of Time/quickening of forward development of a civilization (Ood)... Time Lords at fault?
Just a provocative thought.

A small clue, perchance, as to who may be returning?
So I re-watched Waters of Mars yesterday. At the very end of the episode, after Adelaide has gone inside and shot herself, there's a moment where the Doctor realizes he's gone too far. We hear his own words echoed back at him about being "the winner" rather than "the survivor." I think that was a bit of RTD-style foreshadowing.
I'm going to make some predicitions which may prove to be wildly wrong, but here goes:
- RTD is planning to bring back Gallifrey and the Time Lords
- The Master is returning, in person, rather than as a Valeyard-like aspect of the Doctor. There's a very brief glimpse of a woman in one of the preview trailers who looks like Lucy Saxon. I think the significance of the ring last seen at the end of Last of the Time Lords will be explained.
- That glimpse of John Simm from the preview trailer where it appears we can briefly see his skull in a flash? I think that's going to be revealed as part of how he re-constitutes himself.
So, I'm on record, a little under a month ahead of the airing. We shall see how accurate my prognostications are.

I'd be absolutely amazed - and somewhat disappointed - if RTD burdened Moffat with all that jazz. I'd think it remarkably unfair to introduce a major unignorable development into a series if you were just to depart it - unless this is what Moffatt* wants. The big conclusion of Series 1/5/31 will be a remake of Arc of Infinity...
*If I keep on mix and matching the spellings, I'll get a correct one eventually...

Some spoilers
- Spoiler:
- The TARDIS is part of an ancient Stained Glass Window.
The ring is not picked up by Lucy or Donna or anyone else we've ever seen before. Rather, a member of the disciples of Harold Saxon.
There's a very Harry Potter meets Hammer Dracula resurrection scene.
"Dawn would bring only one thing. The final day".
The Master is "King of the Wastelands".
"Christmas is cancelled" is just a throwaway line.
Wilf never killed anyone while he was a soldier.
The Immortality Gate brings about cellular regeneration. And a lot more...........

How do I do what? As far as I can recall Matthew, your speculation is incorrect.

No, nothing to do with Pompeii at all Liam.
That is in the pre-credits sequence. Oh yes, and the credits go:
DAVID TENNANT
JOHN SIMM
and BERNARD CRIBBINS
DOCTOR WHO
- Spoiler:
- The Church is on the site of an Ancient Convent. It is said that in the 1300's a man in a blue box appeared and smote the demon.

Off the top of my head...........
Mark Thompson, RTD, Julie Gardner, Jana Bennett, Clare Hudson, John Simm, Lord Bernard of Cribbins, Catherine Tate, Claire Bloom, David Harewood, Tracy Ifeachor, Euros Lyn, Gary Russell, Ben Foster, Lizo Newsround, Tom Spilsbury, Peter Ware. Plus many more that I either didn't see (or talk to in a few cases), or didn't recognise.

Yes I did, but to be honest I'm not eulogising over it in the way that reviews on the internet I've read are. There are typical RTD Christmas Day epsiode elements, but it is different to what we've had before in 2 key ways.
1. Parts of it are very dark.
2. The whole episode is really just a set-up for part 2. Which, I've been told, goes off in a unexpected directions anyway!
So I really believe that it's impossible to make a call on part 1 until we reach New Years Day.
Oh, and I have one other photo from last night.

No sign of Bickerstaff at all.
One bit of dialogue that just sprung to mind. Wilf says "bloody" and The Doctor tells him off for it. Wonder whether there's a little in-joke there.
