Is episode 1 called "Extermination of the Daleks"?

This will be the 4th time that a Dalek episode has started a series/season of Who. The viewing figures for the other 3 were:

Day. (1st January 1972) 9.8 mio
Destiny. (1st September 1979) 13.0 mio
Remembrance. (5th October 1988) 5.5 mio

i hear that this episode will be set in a dalek prison-hence all the old daleks. it might be called "asylum of the daleks"

And allegedly this is how the episode ends:

The TARDIS gets lit on fire and then appears to turn to either stone or ashes. Amy runs from the TARDIS, and toward a weeping Angel, as the Doctor yells "No, don't do this!" and River watches.

Speculation is that Amy gets herself sent back in time so she can grow old with Rory, thus allowing them to leave the show. Especially if the Doctor can't rescue those who've been time-displaced by an Angel, which we don't know for sure — but makes more sense than anything else.

Although filming is currently taking place on Amy & Rory's farewell episode, the Dalek season opener still has several days filming to come later this month as part of Block Two.

Have you read the novelization? None of the other Daleks like it. They talk about it when they think it can't hear.

I haven't, though I'd like to at some point. Whenever you describe things from it, it sounds like it really enhances the story.

IIRC they regard it as an abomination. Great novelisation.

If the idea is to put every Dalek, every generation of Dalek, every possible color combination of Dalek, together in a story, are you bound to get the word "abomination" thrown around quite a bit? Daleks aren't exactly known for their diversity.

Did anyone happen to notice the Special Weapons Dalek is in this picture? I now insist it be included in this Dalek extravaganza!

It is. That's why the Ninja is now attached to the ceiling. As, indeed, is Gary Russell who, if you're interested, is also thrilled about its return. Moffat quotes from the new DWM.

"Rory and Amy are no longer regular travelers with the Doctor: “If he thinks he needs them, he just pops in on them,” but, “Each time they’ll get a little older.”

Moffat on killing off companions: “Even if I don’t think I’ll do it…maybe I will do it!”

Moffat ponders, “If we did a UNIT story, would Martha be there?”

The Special Weapons Dalek will definitely appear in the opener

Moffat reiterates that the New Paradigm Daleks are an “officer class”

Can the question “Doctor Who?” be answered? “Wait and see”

We will find out exactly what Trenzalore is all about

“The Fall of the Eleventh” will also be resolved (perhaps not in Series 7 though)

Moffat is very keen that the order of the episodes can be swapped around this time

There will still be a story arc, but it will be “the opposite” of Series 6

Even though he said no more two-parters, they are still possible if the story requires them

Jenna-Louise’s companion will be different to the others and is “going to be a shock”

Filming will continue throughout the rest of 2012 and further into 2013 and beyond

Oh dear, I was really hoping that there would be no arc this year, just a small running theme throughout the series, you know, like "Bad Wolf" in Series 27. The Moff got so carried away last year, the arc ended up extremely convoluted.

There were 15 Dalek operators for the series 7 opener. The story is not one where each set of Daleks has a 5 minute action scene, far from it. The story is much darker than an RTD season premiere.
