Movie News
In an effort to keep the old place somewhat tidy, I've decided we needed a thread where the odd interesting titbits of film new can be shared and discussed without having to create individual threads. I'll do the same in the Television section.
So, let's be having your items of interest!

Re: Movie News
There's good potential in both of these projects. Although frankly given the number of times Logan's Run has been mooted for the remake wagon I'd almost given up on it ever happening.

She also does a considerable amount of (mostly unpublicised) work for a charity that is very close to our hearts.

X-Men First Class - Trailer
I must say, from the looks of the trailer this film doesn't look anywhere near as bad as I thought it might be. See for yourself:

It's been in Development Hell for so long, I don't think we will ever see a Logan's Run remake.Sid Seadevil wrote:There's good potential in both of these projects. Although frankly given the number of times Logan's Run has been mooted for the remake wagon I'd almost given up on it ever happening.
Re: Movie News
As Philip de Franco says, X-Men III and the Wolverine movie had good trailers. Let's wait and see.
Re: Movie News
Very true. But the very fact that I actively expected even the trailer for this to be...disappointing, and it actually wasn't pleased and surprised me.The Browncoat Cat wrote:As Philip de Franco says, X-Men III and the Wolverine movie had good trailers. Let's wait and see.

I had the same reaction, I was definitely expecting to be underwhelmed by it. It's surprisingly decent, and it's nice to see the classic Blackbird.Sid Seadevil wrote:Very true. Re: Movie News
Agreed. The first sight of the Blackbird did bring a small smile to my face. To tell the truth, I'm also not particularly bothered by the choices of characters they've settle on for this. After all, there was no way that they could use the original comic book team; so this mixture of different era characters they've gone for seems as good a way around that as any.Zoltar wrote:I had the same reaction, I was definitely expecting to be underwhelmed by it. Re: Movie News
Indeed. The only cast member that strikes me as an odd choice is Azazel, but that's mostly cos I was never particularly fond of the character. Who knows, maybe the film version of him will be better.Sid Seadevil wrote:Agreed. The first sight of the Blackbird did bring a small smile to my face. Re: Movie News
Well I'd be hard pressed to imagine how the film version of Azazel could possibly be any worse than the comic version. Yes, that was the oddest choice by far. I can only hope that they went for that particular character because they saw something in it that they could do something interesting with.Zoltar wrote:Indeed. He'll Be Back - Arnold Returning to The Big Screen
Posting on Twitter yesterday the iconic former governor of California had this to say:
"Exciting news. My friends at CAA have been asking me for 7 years when they can take offers seriously. Gave them the green light today,"
I demand King Conan!
