Who will be announced on DWC 3rd January as the 11th Doctor?
Re: So, the 11th Doctor...
I've voted for Paterson Joseph, though I'm wondering about the Guardian's decision to have a picture of Ben Wishaw alongside him and Ejiofor on their report, which is amplified by his inclusion in the poll.
Re: So, the 11th Doctor...
Tomorrow ITV start their coverage of the FA Cup "Big Time", as the compteition enters the third round. Preston v Liverpool kicks off at 5.25pm.
IMO the timing of this announcement, and especially the fact that we now know in advance it's coming, has been brilliantly planned by the BBC as their revenge on ITV for nicking the rights to the FA Cup off them. The ultimate Spoiler as it were!!!

I voted Paterson Joseph, partly because I believe the rumours and partly because I want it to be him... or him to be it...
Exciting all this, innit!

Hey guys and gals. "Kinky Boots" is on BBC 2 on Sunday night. Co-incidence?

Re: So, the 11th Doctor...
I still think it will be Paterson Joseph. Going from what I've heard (which is probably less than most), it's a 95% chance at least it's either him or Chiwetel Ejiofor. I had enough trouble spelling "Eccleston" so I'm going to be hopeless if it is CE2.
What am I going to do with myself for the next 24 hours?!

Spelling is copy-and-paste. Pronouncing it, hey, would take some practice...

I voted CE2. Don't think it can be JP, given that he was mentioned on the press release...Unless that was part of a cunning plan to fool us.
Eh...I mean PJ.

No you didn't, Jenny. The "A.N. Other" selection is a fill in the blank category, which you fill in with a message you post in the thread. You did it exactly right.

Re: So, the 11th Doctor...
Remember that geezer my wife knows who is working on next year's specials (and has worked on it since 2004), who said the shortlist had wittled down to Morrissey and Joseph.
Well, she had a cheeky word with him yesterday for making her believe it was Morrissey...to which he replied that she should still keep an eye on Morrissey...
Or does that simply mean a return for his character?
I know I know...just passing on the info.

Looks like it...but (having just had another word with my better half)...this guy also said "Expect to see Morrissey again".
*BIG CHIN-RUBBY MOMENT*
PS: I'm keeping this info in Wrinklie Land for the mo - don't want to look a complete tit across fandom...just in case.
PPS: Oh, sod it, I'll Roobarb it. Looks certain to be Paterson anyway.

Re: So, the 11th Doctor...
Paterson Joseph gets the Daily Mail kiss of death... Is he the new Bill Nighy?
Re: So, the 11th Doctor...
Even after the past four years of Doctor Who being so fantastically successful, I still found the fact that the news that an announcement was going to be made, not had been made but going to be made, was the third news item on BBC Wales regional news programme Wales Today. What is more, the BBC would be streaming the announcement live on big screens in the centre of Cardiff and Swansea. We are living in strange days indeed.
Re: So, the 11th Doctor...
AIUI, they're streaming the whole DWC show live on those big screens all across the UK. (The ones they say they're putting up for the 2012 Olympics.)
Groovy...

You spend time discussing a kids'* show online with invisible friends, and you're worried about looking a complete tit?

Re: So, the 11th Doctor...
Considering the spoilers coming out, its either Joseph or Ejiofor. I'm voting for Paterson Joseph. Just seems the likeliest choice in terms of profile. The right type of actor for the role.
Ejiofors an exciting prospect as well, but I can't see him swapping movies for DW somehow.
TBH, I'm not bothered who it is - I trust the Moff. But as the weeks have gone by, Joseph just seems more and more right.
And the idea of a black Doctor... I'm not ashamed to admit, the idea of doing something non-white this time appeals to me! Am I bad for thinking that?
Of course, I'm NOT saying it has to be a black actor, I'll be very happy if it is a white actor (my ideal Doc 11s would be Dominc West or Aidan Gillan), but just for once I'd like the producers do something radical, throw the cat amongst the pigeons. Upset a few of our friends on DWF!!

On a slight digression, is it just me or does anyone else find the Sean Pertwee fans on DWF a bit scary?

Well, Sean Pertwee himself is a wee bit scary.
My poor brain is now toying with Morrissey again...Dammit, that Christmas title still doesn't make any sense beyond being a cheap magnet for viewers, especially in view of the 'secret' being more or less revealed within 20 minutes. I mean, what was the point? Is it the greatest, most glorious in-joke in living TV memory?
It's all down to my wife's contact and his assertion that DM is coming back in some shape or form.

As they'll mostly be acolytes of The Fantasist, then scary is the kindest thing you can say about them.
