*rolls in, also in the grip of a strong emotion*
Like Lucy I am agog for more
I also wonder if Jethro will deliver a half load of muck to my house - It'll improve the sandy soil no end
edit: *also wants a part in the play - would love to play the stroppy teenage daughter, styling her on a mix of Hilda in Spring and Port Wine and observations whilst a student at my local college last year*

Of course, this may just indicate how often you listen to other people's ideas. The Co=Ordinator wrote:Nick Barlow wrote:Could we manage a performance at a future Wrinkly Drinklies
That is one of the best ideas I have heard in years.

Sparacus, how do you stand on the performance of this play as I would really like to suggest it as my A2 level drama exam performance. Also will you be writing a musical version as I'd then be able to persuade my school do do it as their annual musical!

Re: Comments on "Orchids in June"
A musical version would have to feature Bowie songs - for if this doesn't pass the Bowie Test, what does? And which role should he be playing?

I'd be happy for you to suggest it as your exam performance. The musical idea is an interesting one; I may build in some musical interludes.

I'm not convinced that a public house would be the best venue to stage a play of this quality.

The people need access to works of this... magnitude. Don't deny the common man the oxygen of artistic enlightenment

The roots of the theatre lie in performances thrown together at any open venue, whenever a crowd could be convinced to sit still for a few minutes. Pubs, inns and hostelries of all kinds are natural spots in which to view works of all kinds.
You could be responsible for bringing theatre back to it's very roots!

Re: Comments on "Orchids in June"
Every time I see a part of this, I wonder if it can go any further, and each time spara manages to confound my expectations and continue in the same vein. I truly think that a play like this has never been written or performed before, and were it to be performed, the public and critical reaction to it would be interesting to behold.

A rather low key start to Act Two there spara. Right, I'm off to get me oats.

Re: Comments on "Orchids in June"
Well, traditional Aristotelian structure favours three acts, and we know the author is a traditionalist, so I would expect three. But then everything about this play defies convention, so who knows?barnaby salton wrote:how many acts are there?
Yet again, I find it hard to believe the quality of this play.
