Surely, in this case, that's a good sign. Good luck with said adapting. The Co=Ordinator wrote:
In other news, I have started work on adapting the play for a radio style production. Indeed Mrs C=O saw me doing this earlier, and questioned my sanity.

This really must be recorded.
a perfect candidate for cerealization -- maybe on web-radio.

Ah, I am so stupid (hardly unknown).Lucy McGough wrote:The profanity filter automatically converts the expression Sparacus used into 'wee off'.
On the bright side, the fact that it the one thing which I picked it up as 'wrong' suggests, perhaps, that the rest of the script is thoroughly consistent and believable in its use of language???

You're not stupid. Sparacus' idiolect can be a bit hard to navigate
Re: Comments on "Orchids in June"
You know, having visited the thread in question over at GB, I must say I don't think several of the contributors to that thread appreciate the seminal work that "Orchids in June" represents. They've even accused us Wrinklies of wanting to see this play produced with nefarious motives in mind.
I'm frankly shocked and hurt by this. Wrinklies, nefarious? The two words have never been used in the same sentance before now.

Re: Comments on "Orchids in June"
I've just waded through the G.B. thread. I feel that the C=O has done a sterling job there.
I'm afraid that I couldn't bite my tongue any more and added a comment of my own.
With regard to the Wrinkly production, I'd like to participate, but distance means that I cannot. In any case, I think a Scottish accent would be rather out of place.
Has casting begun, yet?

I would have thought a scottish accent would be perfect for the character of Jethro.

Bruce Campbell should be in this play. There is no higher praise than that.

I'm not sure that I could get my voice far enough down in my boots to play Jethro.

What a lovely twist! I could have sworn it was going to have been the inspector - trying to up his monthly stats.

What more is there to say?Mother doesn't want to discuss Brecht. She's in a state of shock.
Except, of course, that I demand to play the part of Bob Ware!
Re: Comments on "Orchids in June"
Thanks for all the positive comments. I'm pleased that my work has recieved such an encouraging response. I can confirm that my next project will be a return to Ben Chatham fiction.
