Series 6: What Would YOU Like to See?
With the long awaited and eagerly anticipated series 6 ready to loom large across our televisual horizon, I was wondering what themes/direction you would like to see Steve Moffat and the team address/take for the show in general and the TARDIS inhabitants in particular during the season?
Remember - these are what you would personally like to see.
So c'mon, I'm awaiting to be challenged, confounded, entertained, enthralled and even possibly appalled by your ideas and suggestions.
Blow my socks off!

Re: Series 6: What Would YOU Like to See?
Hmm. Excellent question there, Mr. Seadevil.
Start with this: we know the Moff is going to give us an explanation as to River Song's back story, and who was the "good man" she killed. I would very much like that exposition to include a story about the Time Agency, and how at odds with the Time Lord they are.
Apparently, Neil Gaiman is writing a story for Series 6 the includes a character not seen since "The War Games." Well, after the let down the Dream Lord was in "Amy's Choice", I'd like a really challenging story that sees the return of the Celestial Toymaker.
And I'd like to see more of the TARDIS interior, too.

Re: Series 6: What Would YOU Like to See?
Excellent answers, Patrick. Since I know practically zilch about any of these plans these revelations are rather exciting to me.
I'm especially looking forward to the prospect of a Gaiman penned adventure - and if it somehow harks back/ties-in to The War Games, that just the icing on the cake.
Oh and yes, I think it's more than about time we saw a little more of the TARDIS interior myself.

I kid.
Well, I'll add another vote for seeing more of the TARDIS interior. The library must've turned up somewhere by now.

Oh, if I must.
I'll add in another on my personal wish list: Axons. I'd love to see them return just to see how they'd be re-designed.
And if the Daleks are going to make a return to Doctor Who in Series 6, can we please give them a proper story?

And a redesign that doesn't make them look as if they've escaped from a manic makeover by Steve Job's designer Apple design team.Patrick wrote:And if the Daleks are going to make a return to Doctor Who in Series 6, can we please give them a proper story?

Re: Series 6: What Would YOU Like to See?
I'm wrapping this in spoiler tags. This is what "reliable sources" have been able to confirm about what's coming up in the first half of Series 6:
Make of this what you will...
- Spoiler:
- 6.1 As Yet Untitled (1/2)
6.2 As Yet Untitled (2/2)
Written by: Steven Moffat, Directed by: Toby Haynes.
Filming Locations: Cardiff and Utah.
Guest Cast: Alex Kingston; Mark Sheppard; Stewart Milligan
The series opener is a two-parter set in America in the 1960s, and it's - mostly - about River Song and some nefarious doings that she's been up to.
6.3 As Yet Untitled
Written by: Neil Gaiman. Directed by: Richard Clark.
Filming Locations: Cemex, Taff Wells; Tredegar House, Newport.
Cast: Suranne Jones; Elizabeth Berrington
The episode begins in The Void, with something – or someone – whom we have not seen since The War Games (1969), and a knock on the TARDIS door.
6.4 What Are Little Boys Made Of?
Written by: Mark Gatiss. Directed by: Richard Clark.
Filming Locations: Pembroke House, Cardiff; Dyrham Park National Trust House, Gloucestershire; Waring House Estate, Bristol.
Cast: James Oram; Daniel Mays; Emma Cunniffe; Andrew Tiernan
The story appears to revolve around a child named George and his parents. There is also someone named Mr Purcell, who has a nasty run-in with his floor. And there's a cake, that has 'I am eleven!' written on it. Allegedly.
6.5 The Rebel Flesh (1/2)
6.6 Gangers (2/2)
Written by: Matthew Graham. Directed by: Julian Simpson
Filming Locations: Bute Park, near the Cardiff Castle.
Cast: Marshall Lancaster; Sarah Smart
In episodes five and six, the Doctor will face a 'thrilling and terrifying dilemma the like of which he's never seen before.' Again. And, apparently the Doctor has some flashbacks to his visit to Skaro in Genesis of the Daleks in the second half of the story. Steven Moffat hinted in DWM: 'Would you like to peek inside a cupboard that will chill your blood, or meet a workforce that will haunt your dreams?' Yes, I would.
6.7 As Yet Untitled (1/2)
6.8 As Yet Untitled (2/2)
Written by: Steven Moffat.
Cast: Alex Kingston
This episode will have a 'game-changing cliff-hanger,' which will continue in the autumn when the final six episodes of the series are shown (beginning with episode eight). Amy has 'a terrible secret,' something to do with the true nature of her relationship to the Doctor. There will be a 'frankly appalling' revelation concerning the one person in the universe the Doctor trusts the most. He will also be learning - fully - what his relationship with River Song is. Rory stumbles to the brink of a terrible mistake. And the Doctor's life changes forever. And, it'll be next September before you'll find out what happens next.
Make of this what you will...

Re: Series 6: What Would YOU Like to See?
And to further add to potential speculation, here's a bit I lifted from Keith "Telly" Topping's blog:
Russell Davies has revealed that Steven Moffat would like to feature Captain Jack Harkness (John Barrowman) in Doctor Who at some point in the future. Davies made the comments in an interview with IGN where he also discussed how he and Moffat exchange storyline details on future plots on Doctor Who and its spin-off shows The Sarah Jane Adventures and Torchwood so that nothing clashes between the three shows. 'Steven said he'd love to see Jack in Doctor Who.' noted Rusty. 'If Steven says that, Steven will make it happen, I would think. That's not inside information, but I bet one day it will happen. I'd love to see it. It would be marvellous.' The character of Jack Harkness was originally created by Moffat and first introduced in the two-part Doctor Who story The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances. The character subsequently appeared in five episodes of series one and was subsequently given his own spin-off series, Torchwood. Barrowman returned to Doctor Who for the three-part series three finale and the two-part series four finale. He also had a cameo appearance in David Tennant's final story, The End of Time.
