What did you think of "A Christmas Carol"?
Re: Rate "A Christmas Carol"
It wasn't their friend, but the could control it with her singing and his sonic screwdriver..Elliott H. Seadevil wrote:I did like this years christmas special. But the flying fish were a bit weird I didn't see why the shark was their friend It was a bit mad a some bits I had to rate it 3 out of 5
Re: Rate "A Christmas Carol"
I know I was nearly 20 years old at the time and had long ago learnt the difference between fact and fiction, but I was mildly disappointed on 1st January, 1987, that Mondas and the Cybermen had not put in an appearance at any point in the previous 12 months. It would have been cool, terrifying for all the above mentioned reasons, but still cool.stanmore wrote:Indeedy. I've only got fleeting memories of the time when I couldn't tell where Doctor Who ends and reality begins, but my over-riding memories are of "aarrrgghh! Sea Devils!" rather than anything else.
Re: Rate "A Christmas Carol"
I'm still bitterly disappointed that non of the Dalek invasions of Earth have thus far materialised. The Browncoat Cat wrote:I know I was nearly 20 years old at the time and had long ago learnt the difference between fact and fiction, but I was mildly disappointed on 1st January, 1987, that Mondas and the Cybermen had not put in an appearance at any point in the previous 12 months. Well, Clive (the shark) is actually a rather nice person once you move past his Jaws act and you get to know him.

And of course, he was an excellent co-star for John Barrowman in Megashark.Zoltar wrote:Well, Clive (the shark) is actually a rather nice person once you move past his Jaws act and you get to know him.

Re: Rate "A Christmas Carol"
I rationalised it as Convergent Evolution. On Earth, creatures that live their whole life constantly on the move, swimming all the time, whether they be fish, lizards or mammals evolve into a basic pointy tubular shape that has a tail on the end. As these creature spend their lives swimming through clouds of tiny ice crystals, with an electrostatic charge keeping them up in the clouds as they are constantly on the move, then they have evolved a fishlike shape, ie a pointy tube with a tail on the end. This is of course very bad science, but it sort of works.Elliott H. Actually, I'm not sure who was the bigger ham in Megashark: John or Clive the shark.

At first thought, I'd be inclined to say Clive the Shark. But on second thoughts - Barrowman does have the teeth.Patrick wrote:Actually, I'm not sure who was the bigger ham in Megashark: John or Clive the shark.

Hmmmm...somebody was definitely asleep during that lesson at Sea Devil School.Elliott H. Seadevil wrote:Why do you call me hatching what is it I'm not familiar
A Hatchling is a young Sea Devil. They're called that because we Eocenes hatch out of eggs, rather than the hairy ape mammal way.
Now, pay attention in future - you might have to answer questions such as this in a test someday.
