Indeed. It sounds a bit expensive too.Sid Seadevil wrote:This does sound interesting. But they'll need to be damned careful how they handle this - especially if they want to avoid catching the interest of Neil Gaiman's lawyers.

Battlestar Galatcia: Blood and Chrome
And so the first major steps on the road for the ambitious replacement for the cancelled Cparica, are taken.
Universal Studios have begun production on the two hour pilot, costing $4.2m, with an option to run a full 18 episode season costing $54m ($3m an episode).
Michael Taylor is lead writer for the pilot, based on a treatment by BSG's David Eick (right hand man to Ronald D Moore during BSG), The pilot will be directed by Jonas Pate.
Universal note the series would be utilizing cutting edge CGI and virtual technology via scans of the Vancouver sound stages which hosted the Galactica sets. New sets are also being built at the Vancouver studios.
The series would be based around Galactica's younger years, and Adama's role during the first Cylon war. English actor Luke Pasqualino (Skins) will play the role of the young Adama.
Battlestar Galactica: Blood & Chrome takes place in the 10th year of the first Cylon war. As the battle between humans and their creation, the sentient robotic Cylons, rages across the 12 colonial worlds, a young, talented fighter pilot, William Adama (Luke Pasqualino), finds himself assigned to one of the most powerful Battlestars in the Colonial fleet: the Galactica.
23 Stations have applied for provisional options on the series which would be hosted by NBC/Universal's Sy Fy.

Re: Television News
This may not be coming as news to everyone, but it did suprise me when I found out about it this morning. Apparently, Lawrence Fishburne has left the cast of "CSI." Originally, Fishburn was brought in to replace William Peterson. Peterson had been playing, at the time, the character of Gil Grissom for almost 9 seasons. Fishburn has only been there two and a half.
Interestingly, the season cliffhanger for CSI this year sees Fishburne's character under an Internal Affairs investigation regarding his role in the death of serial killer Nate Haskell.

Re: Television News
Mrs C=O reckons that, although Fishburne is good, CSI hasn't been the same since Petersen left. Perhaps it's time to call it a day after a very long, and highly successful, run?

Six seasons? They're making quite a commitment.

It'll be interesting to see how long Neil Gaiman remains attached to it.
