Torchwood: Children of Earth
With the tranmission of COE finally coming up, please use this thread to discuss the series. Both before, in anticipation and speculation, and once the first episode has been broadcast.

Re: Torchwood: Children of Earth
This third series look really great, from what the trailer has show, and it'll be much bigger and better than never before, i would have liked it to have been a longer series, but i presume that the five-part format is what will make it so spectacular

So the marathon starts tonight. Looking at the traffic in this thread, we don't exactly seem to be overwhelmed at the prospect!

I nearly bought Trial of a Time Lord yesterday for £26. The I realised it was crap and I only wanted to watch the documentaries about how crap it is. So I'll wait until it's under £20.

i'm sure you can get it for less. it is really awful though. the dvd is worth it for "doctor in distress" alone.

Re: Torchwood: Children of Earth
I'm looking forward to it because I really want them to do 'Torchwood' properly after the so-so two seasons we've already had. Bring it on.
Naturally, I'll be firing up the blog after each evening's episode!

I'm really looking forward to your reviews, Frank.
Please can no-one refer to it as CoE? That just makes me immediately think of the Church of England and makes me all confuzzled.

Re: Torchwood: Children of Earth
I am actually stunned at how good that was.
I would genuinely give it 10/10.
If it's this good next week, I'm going to have to stop disliking John Barrowman!

Re: Torchwood: Children of Earth
Definitely a very promising start, and I'm sure there's lots of twists and turns to come yet.
In many ways, the scene that caught my attention my than any other was Gwyn & Rupesh having coffee outside the WMC. I thought Euros Lyn brought it to life quite superbly.

I ain't used to this newfangled 'event television'.
Re: Torchwood: Children of Earth
So it's worth watching then? I might... save it... up 'til I can watch all five in one go if it is...

Re: Torchwood: Children of Earth
That was rather good, wasn't it? Made me glad I rushed home just in time to catch the start - setting up a very intriguing mystery about just what happened with the 456, then a nice big twist to set up the big thriller of a climax. Looking forward to tomorrow.
Re: Torchwood: Children of Earth
Really good start. Torchwood gets better and better with each series. Looking forward to part 2.

Well, that got off to a decidedly excellent start. Very much RTD meets Nigel Kneale, via PJ Hammond.
Roll on the rest of the week's episodes.

6 million plus on time shift. Let's hope they can maintain that through the week. It would probably get them a re-commission.
Re: Torchwood: Children of Earth
I recorded last night's as my daughter is home for a couple of nights*. Which means I will record tonight's as well. Which means I will not catch up and will have to record all five and watch at some time in the future. From what you lot have posted I am really looking forward to it though - a mix of John Wyndham, Nigel Kneale, PJ Hammond, RTD, sounds wonderful!
*We will watch The Empty Child two parter at
some point today as she has never seen it.
